Privacy Policy

QuoteLawn ("we", "us", "our") connects homeowners with independent lawn-care providers in their area. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using QuoteLawn, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers two groups of users:

• Customers — homeowners who use QuoteLawn to request a quote or schedule service.
• Providers — lawn-care professionals who create a QuoteLawn account to receive booking leads.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

• Customers: name, email address, mobile phone number, service address, lawn measurements (drawn on a map), service selections, and optional notes for the provider. QuoteLawn does not collect payment information from customers — you pay your provider directly at time of service.
• Providers: business name, contact name, email, phone, password (stored as a bcrypt hash, never in plaintext), business slug, optional logo, service pricing, service areas (cities you serve).

2.2 Information collected automatically

• IP address, user-agent, request timing (used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention).
• Authentication cookies (provider accounts) — see section 6.
• Property boundary and parcel data fetched from third-party mapping providers when you enter your address.

2.3 Information from third parties

When you enter your address we may query parcel/property-boundary data from Realie and map imagery + geocoding from Google Maps. Building-footprint data used to remove buildings from your lawn measurement comes from the VIDA combined open-buildings dataset, which aggregates Microsoft Building Footprints and Google Open Buildings.

3. How we use information

• Provide the service: match you with a provider and generate a quote.
• Send transactional email — booking confirmations, provider acceptance/decline updates, and (for providers) new-lead notifications.
• Improve and secure the service: rate limiting, fraud prevention, debugging, analytics in aggregate.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Who we share your information with

We share information only to operate the service:

• Your assigned provider: name, contact email/phone, service address, lawn measurements, service selections, and notes — so they can fulfill your booking.
• Zoho Mail (email infrastructure): your email address and message body to deliver transactional emails.
• Google Maps / Realie / VIDA (building footprints): address strings and coordinates used to look up parcel and building-outline data; subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
• Service providers and contractors that help us host, maintain, and secure the platform, all bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal compliance: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect QuoteLawn, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information. QuoteLawn does not send SMS or text messages, and does not share your phone number with an SMS subprocessor.

5. Lead routing

Providers can opt in to lead routing so that customers who ask us to recommend a provider are matched with an available provider in their city. Lead routing is opt-in at signup and providers can turn it off at any time from the provider dashboard. When routing occurs, the customer's booking details are shared only with the single provider we route to, on the same basis as any other booking (see §4).

6. Cookies

QuoteLawn uses two cookies, both first-party and HttpOnly:

• ql_token — provider authentication session, expires after 7 days.
• ql_admin — internal admin session, used only by QuoteLawn staff.

We do not use third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.

7. Data retention

• Bookings: retained for accounting and legal purposes, typically 7 years.
• Provider account data: retained while your account is active; deleted on request after 30 days.
• Email logs: typically retained 12–24 months for delivery troubleshooting and abuse prevention.

8. Your rights and choices

You can:

• Access your data — email info@quotelawn.com.
• Correct inaccuracies — providers can edit profile data in the dashboard; customers can email us.
• Delete your account / data — email info@quotelawn.com; we will honor deletion within 30 days, retaining only what is required for legal/accounting purposes.
• Opt out of email by replying or following the unsubscribe link where available; transactional emails about an active booking are not opt-out.
• Opt out of lead routing (providers) — toggle "Receive customer leads" off in your dashboard at any time.

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Tennessee, Indiana, Nebraska, New Jersey, Delaware, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Rhode Island, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights including the right to request a copy of personal information we hold and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither). 9. Security and breach notification

We protect your data with TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, server-side rate limiting, HttpOnly session cookies, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfect — if you suspect a security issue, email info@quotelawn.com.

In the event of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users without undue delay, consistent with applicable state and federal breach-notification laws. Notice will describe what happened, what information was involved, and what we are doing in response.

10. Children

QuoteLawn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
